It’s Crazy To Not Do Counselling!
Everyone needs help and it is okay to ask for help.
Times are difficult and it gets tougher as the modern world keeps on growing. We work hard and harder every single day, to keep up and only to find ourselves barely catching up. This is the price of globalization and in order to be in pace and get ahead, you’ll need someone to talk to because it is insane not to!
Let me explain.
As everyone strives to move mountains in this intense digital age, the race is happening around you but the true haste is transpiring in your heart. And it scarcely wants to keep up with the grind. You see your doctor, manage your blood pressure, and take medications. Then you realize it is not enough because your mental state is not taken care of. It is what we ignore the most. Mental health has a stigma.
People are often terrified of talking to someone or asking for help, then that fear metastasizes into pain. The truth is, people who are willing to be vulnerable in front of the arenas, of glaring eyes, that is true courage.
You do not have to avoid judgments, you need to overcome it.
Going through life is tiring and it is even more exhausting when you reckon with emotions and failing to explore them. As a kid, you were told to suck it up, push through, and get it done. You have to take a step back and wander within your emotions.
Do not inflict pain, not at work and not at home. Find a neutral person and talk about it. It does not matter if you’re in love or heartbroken, if you are a blue-collar worker or a creative, at some point, you will experience a snag, a failure.
The dangerous thing you can do is to go through it alone. Experiencing pain is no solo act, rock star mentality can dig you deeper but your bandmates such as your friends, family members, and loved ones can pull you through.
However, the people around you are going through pain as well and in most likelihood, they will be willing to listen. But you have to realize to what cost and extent. Counsellors and therapist can be your neutral bandmates as you riff through the pain. Not everyone around you can listen to your dire lyrics every single day. It is your outlet but it drains them and not realizing that you’re sucking the life out of them.
It’s crazy to not do counselling! Even if you’re the strongest man on Earth, life will eventually catch up with you and its weight is unbearable.
Counselling is important in the modern world as we get more interconnected, you need that neutral person who is trained to listen and not judge. Your counsellor would not be compelled to “thumbs up” or “like” who you are, no “filter” will be slapped on you.
Everyone needs help and it is okay to ask for help.
You can be raw and vulnerable, let it out and flow with it. It makes a huge difference in your life as it will liberate you to take on the next big step.. or even small, great ones.
